Gods of Luxury was an influential electronic music group that produced one album in 1995. The project consisted of Mark Tibenham, Antonia Reiner, and Justin Jones. A few tracks from the album are in rotation on the Internet's largest electronic music radio station, Groove Salad.
The album, Sensations of Tone, featured progressive chillout tracks with a dark, dramatic, but ambient feel, layered upon steady downtempo groove beats. Synths were used extensively to create a complex, yet airy sound, with no identifiable samples demanding the listener's attention.
Vocals on Sensations of Tone are spoken by a female voice in a husky, breathy, Italian-British accent. Lyrics were taken entirely from the works of Aldous Huxley.
